
APPLE CRISP
During apple season in the sunny Okanagan, organic apples are readily available from local farmers for a fair price. It is the perfect time to make an quick apple dish the whole family can enjoy. This simple version of a crisp using Weeds & Seeds can be used with any tree fruit and is sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

½ cup butter or coconut oil

½ cup oatmeal

½ cup unbleached or gluten free flour

½ cup Weeds & Seeds™

½ cup brown sugar
-
½ tsp. cinnamon
-
¼ tsp. nutmeg

6 tart apples (with peel if desired) twist of lemon

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°
Peel and slice the apples, toss in lemon juice quickly to prevent browning.
Work the dry ingredients & butter together with a pastry blender or two knifes until crumbly.
Spoon the crumb topping over the apples till they are covered.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
Serve at breakfast with organic vanilla yogurt or for a sweet treat with vanilla ice cream.
